KNOEBELS SENIOR DAY

Today we will be going to the 49th Annual Senior Citizens Day at Knoebels Amusement Resort, Pennsylvania’s #1 Family Fun Park!  This year Knoebels is celebrating 92 years of memories.  On this special day, senior citizens 55+ will start out the day with donuts & coffee before boarding the scenic Pioneer Train for a 1 1/4-mile-long ride.  After an included noon meal, there are more rides including the beautiful Grand Carousel, plus the bald eagle habitat and mining museum or learning about Knoebels at their History Museum.  Entertainment will also be part of our FUN day.  On our way home we will be visiting a country store before a fast food supper stop.  This is sure to be a FUN day for all!  Invite a friend and plan now to join us!

Every year in mid-June, the community of Wellsboro celebrates the blooming of our state flower with the annual PA State Laurel Festival.  There will be arts & crafts plus the International Street of Foods where you are sure to find something good to eat.  In the afternoon we will be enjoying a 2-hour tour through the wondrous Pennsylvania Grand Canyon on a horse-drawn covered wagon.  The tour guides are fluent in the history of the Canyon going back to the 19th century.  They will tell the  tale while the horses wind their way on the Pine Creek Rail Trail.  This is sure to be a most delightful summertime day.

OCEAN GROVE CHOIR FESTIVAL

CAPE MAY, NJ

“THE NATION’S OLDEST SEASHORE RESORT”

Some things just get better with age, and charming Cape May is no exception. This historic Victorian seaside gem is the oldest resort on the Atlantic Coast and one of the most  beautiful spots in the country. The entire city is a National Historic District, with nearly 600 preserved Victorian buildings.  We will enjoy our noon meal at one of the lovely restaurants after which you may wish to take a trolley tour, visit many of the quaint shops, or take a scenic walk along the boardwalk/promenade.  We will also visit the historic Cape May Lighthouse.  Built in 1859, it is still an aid to navigation. This 2nd trip to the NEW Ark Encounter & the Creation Museum in Kentucky was planned due to the overwhelming interest of folks in seeing these two awesome attractions.  At the Ark Encounter you will experience a life-sized reconstruction of Noah’s ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible.  This marvel of engineering is 7 stories tall and is the largest timber-frame structure in the world, full of world-class exhibits designed to answer your questions about the biblical account of Noah’s Ark.  You will experience history in a completely different way at the  Creation Museum where this state-of-the-art facility has breathed life into history.  Murals, realistic scenery, over 50 exotic animals, life-sized people, a special-effects theater plus the Stargazer’s Planetarium are just some of the outstanding features you will see that bring the pages of the Bible to life. 

Inside the museum are 160 incredible exhibits and 3 gardens accentuate the beautiful outdoor landscape.

Magic happens whenever Elisabeth von Trapp walks into a room and begins to perform.  Both in song and words, her concerts are part music and part inspiration.  We will be traveling to a church in Nazareth, PA to hear Elisabeth, the granddaughter of the legendary Maria & Baron von Trapp, as she takes us on a  musical journey.  She is blessed with a beautiful voice and has honed the skills of self-accompaniment on guitar.  We have had the privilege of hearing Elisabeth up at the Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont as well as at other venues.  This wonderful day will also include a delicious noon meal.  We are delighted to have this opportunity to hear her once again on this birthday celebration trip.  Linda would love to have you join her.
